Felling - The complete removal of tree down to ground level
which can either be done from
the ground where space permits or in sections lowered safely to the ground.

Crown Reduction - The overall size of the crown is reduced
which can lessen the effect
high wind has on the tree and allows more light to the garden and other plants.

Crown Thinning -For when the crown has become too thick, blocking light out for other
plants, selectively removing excessive branches.

Stump grinding - Use of a machine to grind away at the stump/root of a tree leaving area
clear for planting.

Pollarding - The removal of all
branches leaving just the main stump to promote regeneration. Carried out mainly
on trees that regrow easily e.g. lime, willow, poplar
